Everyone knows Grote Knip. It's beautiful, but it's also on every postcard and busy most afternoons. If you want wedding or engagement photos that feel private, personal, and different from what everyone else has, these are the lesser-known places I love to shoot as a Curaçao photographer.
Why choose a hidden location?
Fewer people means fewer strangers in the background and more time to relax. Quieter spots also give your photos a more intimate, unique feel. And if you're shy in front of the camera, having a place to yourselves makes a huge difference.

Curaçao's historic landhuizen
The island's old plantation houses combine colonial architecture, old stone walls, and wide open landscapes. They're a great choice for couples who want something timeless and elegant instead of a classic beach look.
The salt pans at Jan Kok
Pink-toned water, open skies, and, if you're lucky, flamingos in the background. It's a completely different side of Curaçao, and especially beautiful in the soft light at the end of the day.
Playa Lagun
A small cove surrounded by cliffs, with calm, clear water. It's much quieter than the bigger beaches, making it perfect for intimate engagement sessions and elopements.
The wild coast of Westpunt
The rugged cliffs and dramatic sea at the western tip of the island make a bold, editorial backdrop. It's windy and raw, and perfect for couples who want something less typical.
Tips for shooting at hidden locations
Go at golden hour for the best light and the fewest people.
Wear comfortable shoes to get there, and change once you arrive.
Bring water and plan for heat, since many spots have no facilities.
Respect private property and nature, and check access where needed.
Trust your photographer to know the timing and the best angles.
