About Kyle Evers

My name is Kyle Evers, and I'm a wedding and documentary photographer based in Curaçao, photographing destination weddings, proposals, couples, families, and events across the island.

I picked up a camera for the first time at fifteen, a gift from my dad. The first photo I remember being proud of was my brother, standing under a tree at night. Nothing about the conditions was easy, but something about getting it right in the dark made me want to chase that feeling again.

I grew up on an island where light, water, and stillness were part of everyday life, and I was drawn early to watching things closely: how light moved across the water, how a scene changed in a single moment. That was long before I understood that instinct would become a craft. That same instinct carries into freediving and spearfishing, a passion of mine that shapes how I see just as much as photography does. Underwater, you learn patience: to move slowly, stay out of the way, and wait for the exact right moment rather than force it.

Today I bring that same patience to every wedding and session.

My approach

That patience is the approach I bring to weddings. My style is documentary at its core: candid, unposed, built around real moments rather than staged ones, with a timeless, editorial finish. I'm there to observe and capture, and to guide gently when it helps, the same way I'd wait underwater for a moment to unfold rather than chase it. On your wedding day, that means fewer forced poses and more of what actually happened: the glances, the in-between seconds, the moments you'd otherwise never see.

I work in English and Dutch, Spanish and I know Curaçao's light and locations, from Willemstad's colorful waterfront to the hidden beaches of Banda Abou.

FAQ

  • For weddings, 6–12 months ahead is ideal, especially in high season. Sessions and events can often be booked a few weeks in advance. Message me with your date to check availability.

  • Yes. Your date is reserved once the booking is confirmed and the deposit of [amount or %] is paid. The remaining balance is due upon wedding day

  • Rain in Curaçao usually passes quickly. For sessions, we can reschedule [at no extra cost]. For weddings, I always plan a backup with you ahead of time.

  • Light, flowing fabrics and soft neutral or pastel colors work best with Curaçao's beaches and light. Coordinate, don't match. I'll send you tips before your session.

  • Yes. The Signature Destination package includes two photographers, and a second shooter can be discussed for other weddings.

  • [No. Every photo is carefully edited in my signature style, and you receive high-resolution edited images.]
